French Ligue 1’s biggest earners

Published

on

French highly rated newspaper L’Equipe announced the wages of some big players in the Ligue prior to the current contracts with respective teams. Lets go through the list of some players you already have an idea of and some shocking ones you may not be expecting.

PSG dominates the list with 9 of their team players involved in the top 10 alone. The only player to make it in the top 10 is Radamel Falcao. The Colombian striker only receives a fraction of what Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappé makes in each season. The dominance of PSG in the Ligue is reflected with how much they pay their players. The list reveals 13 of PSG’s senior team players.

The next players after the only non-PSG player in the list introduces former premiership and Bundesliga stars Dmitri Payet and Luiz Gustavo respectively, who earn six million euros a year each. Hatem Ben Arfa, who has not played a single minute for PSG so far also makes it after Gustavo with same earnings.

Marseille ranks second as the club with most players in the French Ligue wage earners with 7 of their team players. Ridiculously, Neymar’s earning alone for the season is way beyond what these 7 players earn for the season combined. Neymar earns more in a month than the seven players at the bottom of the top 30 do in a year.
